Horizons is a Resource Provision which provides support and education for 40 pupils with a primary need in complex communication needs. Our pupils benefit from a curriculum which is tailored to their individual needs, enabling all pupils to reach their full potential, both academically and socially.

Our students are split into three class groupings. Each group is supported by a class teacher and additional learning support assistants. Students are supported to access the mainstream setting, wherever appropriate.

Our aim for our students is that they leave us with the skills to be able to realise their aspirations, therefore we place a significant focus on developing academic and social skills to support this vision.

At Horizons, we place a large emphasis on beautiful learning environments. We believe that for our pupils to succeed, they need to feel proud to be a part of our community and be supported by the resources they need. Since the academy has transferred to The GORSE Academies Trust, significant investment has taken place which has seen the provision be aesthetically transformed. These environmental changes will ensure that our pupils have choices, for example, being able to decide if they want to spend time within the mainstream environment during breaks, or if they would like to remain within the provision.

Horizons joins Rainbow Base and Little London Bridge, our specialist provisions at Richmond Hill Academy and Little London Academy for primary-aged pupils with a primary need of complex communication needs and/or Autism, to create a provision for children aged 4-16 who will benefit from a resource provision setting.
